2.) We already have this feature. If you click on the timecode stamps it'll skip to that topic in the video. example here:http://channel9.msdn.com/Shows/The-Defrag-Show/Defrag-DVDs-sans-Sound-Disable-Snapping-Watch-Mon-for-Folders. It is just up to the contributor to create them.

3.) Do you mean have a search box for each show/series/blog/tags page? Because you can already do that:

Are you having this issue with all videos? can you link me to some videos you are having this slow download issue with. I have downloaded some episodes of defrag in HQ WMV and haven't had this issue.

Can you give me an example of how you would like a video file name? pick a show or series and show me the original filename and what you would prefer it to be. Everyone has the option of choosing what kind of filename they want their video to be (we can't control every contributor) but we can control what content is produced by Channel 9 team members. For shows like TWC9 and Defrag we usually put the name of the show and the date since the shows are weekly and ongoing with no end date. For the Bob Tabor series we abbreviate the language (VB,CS,JS)and then the topic discussed in the video. Let me know how else you would preder file naming and i can try to incorporate it more.

as for encoding and compression. we compress the videos as small as we can without the quality of the video having too many artifacts. we have 35 min (video + screencap) as small as 200mb, which is pretty good.

Thanks for the note! the RSS feeds do have paging that takes you back 25 shows so you could page to the beginning, see how many pages there are and pull them all in.

1.)  I will take into consideration the naming convention you specified. I usually upload the conference videos from C9Live with the name of the session, but i will start adding the name of the conference as well as speaker.

2.) which videos have bad audio? I know everything shot in the studio has had great audio quality in the last few months (since I am recording them ) are you refering to content contributor by others? Channel 9 is still a site for most Microsoft employees to upload videos to, we can't control every contributors video uploaded. But videos featured on the homepage are usually of the highest quality. There might be a few conferences where there are no audio mixer supervisors but those are usually the free conferences but we still find the content to be great so we upload them. Would it be prefered to not upload the videos then if they had poor quality? i.e. http://channel9.msdn.com/Events/Lang-NEXT/Lang-NEXT-2012 

3.) this can be answered in my above response. channel 9 doesn't film/encode everything. and for the aspconf i know volunteers helped out with those videos. but for the future, I will see what our team can do to filter out anything of poor quality.
