  • Bing Map, WTF Parallel Universe.

This happens a lot of places. Bing maps is getting better, but they need a more aggressive release schedule and a proper Android app.

Come on Bing, you can do it!

  • What's a good hardware load balancer to put in front of 2 Windows servers for HTTP

I've used a Linux box with LVS for two windows boxes.

  • IE9 copy & paste removes line returns

IE9 is a great browser and all, but this is what makes it hard to use. There won't be an update to this for at least a few weeks, probably months.

Firefox's accelerated release schedule is not such a bad idea. Neither is Chrome's. Little annoyances like this just won't get fixed Sad. When it dose, it will be KB840852 with a change log stating "fixes some usability issues with IE9".

  • Traffic Monitoring

I love Bing maps' traffic. It decides when I leave work to avoid any pain and suffering. But I want more. I was wondering if anyone knew of a service that takes snapshots of traffic patterns (Green, Yellow, Red, Black) every minute of every day. This data could be used to show history patterns, of what gets congested at what time.

Traffic.com doesn't seem to, bing maps doesn't, neither does Google. Does anything?

  • Update your WP7 device without hacking

Worked with a Samsung Focus on AT&T. How lame, wtf kind of testing is going on.

There are still strange quirks with a few apps though. Shazam occasionally stops listening to music, and the phone has to be rebooted. The voice search also fails to listen and the phone has to be rebooted.

  • Office For Mac Support Site Sucks

Seriously, everytime I try to get information or give feedback, the site fails.

    http://www.officeformac.com/ms/ProductForums/Outlook/319

There is always a new error Sad That forum truly needs redone. Luckily Office 2011 for Mac is better than the support site, but just as quirky.

Great commitment to the Mac there Tongue Out

  • Joe Belfiore vs irate nerds

@cbae:It is not nearly as bad as Android at all. But when I am making Windows Phone Apps, they are going to start a lot faster on my phone vs people with the older OS. I have had enough app rejections because of slow performance. If I have the new OS, I am going to think everything is quick Sad

I just want everyone to have the new OS within a week. No change in functionality between handsets a week after an update is released.

  • Joe Belfiore vs irate nerds

@Bas: I agree, this its new attitude will kill them. I already think the lack of multitasking for months is hurting them. People are entering two year contracts with platforms that are much more flexible to the end consumer.

Sad too, because WP7 has great battery life compared to Android (comparing similar handsets). But one thing I am surprised about is the update process. It was hyped that since Microsoft would provide the update, that there would be no fragmentation issues. But this latest issue is pretty sad.

  • Setting IE9 32-bit as default browser (as opposed to IE9 64-bit)

32bit is my default as well. How you got 64bit to be default is quite weird.

  • Has W7P already died?

I am worried about Windows 7 Phone. I've known a few people to take back their phone for an android because of the lack of multi tasking features. People got used to having IM programs open in the background, which you can't do on the Windows 7 phone.

The Nokia deal is nice, but they wont produce anything with a Windows 7 Phone OS for a while. Things need to happen now. iOS and Android will only gain more users, and wil lock them in because of their purchased apps. I know I can't live without Google Voice now. Windows Phone 7 does not offer a good Google Voice app due to the lack of multitasking.
