Ok started playing around with Groove for work as a document storage system or something at least better then what we are currently using. We don't have a groove server or anything setup, just different people sharing files via groove.

Anyways a couple of questions:
1. Where do the documents get saved? Can I change that folder?
2. What about search, can I use Window Desktop Search to search those folders and files?
3. Can I have a document in Groove stored in multiple folders or "tagged" somehow?

Anywyas just looking for some help in Groove, any where to point me?

Good evening,

I'm trying to figure out how to setup VMWare Workstation w/ the same IP Address when I dual boot, both Windows Vista and Kubuntu 7.10.

Right now when I'm in Kubuntu, my VMWare Workstation is giving out a 192.168.50 IP address and when i boot into Vista I have an ip address of 192.168.90.X.

Anyways when I look into VMWare I'm trying to figure out how to change it.

Any ideas?

I've gotten a little confused and my scorecard is a little messed up w/ scratching people on and off it. Besides Rory and Charles who is still on the team? Sampy? Duncan? HumanCompiler? Anyone else I'm missing?

Good morning,

I saw an earlier post about someone removing Vista nad going back to Vista and someone mentioned posting concrete problems w/ Vista instead of just trying to jump on the bandwagon of Vista Sucks.

So here is why on the main computer at home I'm thinking about going back to Vista, or at least sick of trying to troubleshoot....

My computer is a Dell, Pentium D w/ 2 Gigs of RAM. Currently I don't have the Video Card to run full Aero, but that's fine w/ me....

Anyways here is the list of issues I'm sick of dealing w/

1. IE7 crashing: My wife uses the computer a lot and when she is on various sites, Facebook, some chatboards, Snapfish, Flickr IE7 will freeze and stop responding. The troubleshooter doesn't list any specific problems or steps to resolve this problem. My wife just wants to do her webmail, chat on her chat boards, and check pictures people post.

2. USB drives stop responding: I have my music collection on a 120 GIG usb drive and want to listen to music. Media Player stops repsonding 9 times out 10, mostly between changing songs. While the music keeps playing

3. iTunes freezes: I have the latest version of iTunes, downloaded it via the Apple Updater and every time I plug-in my iPod, my wife's iPod the application stops responding, probally linked to problem #2

None of these were problems before when I was on XP and starting to wonder if I shouldn't have upgraded. I've downloaded drivers from Dell, made sure my system was completly up to date, ran anti-virus scans and anti-spyware scans and spent about a month and half trying to troubleshoot all the problems.

Anyone got any hints or suggestions for me or should I just format and start back w/ XP that was working?

I recently received a new laptop from work and am having problems dual booting XP and Ubuntu. Upon finishing the installation and trying to reboot, I receive an error message that I am missing a file. When I go to run a reinstallation, I get a BSOD and it reboots. Any ideas? Is it my XP disk that is bad? The laptop is a Dell Latitude D820 w/ a 100 gig SATA drive

Has anyone played around w/ ms.dewey.com??? Seems to be powered by Live Search, some of the comments are pretty funny, but is this a serious search site? Don't know how accurate some of the links are. Maybe we can get more information on this from an interview or one of the developers? It seems to want flash, is there a reason it isn't in WPF/E

I have a slight frustration w/ setting up Vista file sharing. I have a USB drive full of music that I keep connected to my main desktop which is now running Vista. When I had it running XP I shared the folder out and was able to access from any of my boxes, either Linux (via Samaba) or WinXP through \\computername\share. Now it seems a lot harder to connect to it. I have it shared for everyone but yet I am still being prompted for a username/password which no matter what I type does not authenticate Anyone else having any problems with this?

If I recall the new outlook express is now called windows mail or something like that. Can you use it under windows xp? Only references I found referred to Windows Live Mail, which I thought was Hotmail. Can someone correct me?

First off all, I love how the new outlook looks and works, it rocks. Second question is, in the To Do bar appointments that are scheduled for all day and I have marked as busy do not show up. Any way to fix that?

Been using OneNote 2007 Beta and I love it. I own a copy of OneNote 2003 and 2007 is a nice improvement. It has become one of those apps that I can't live without.
But that's not the question: Is there a way to take a bunch of created pages and make them into subpages of another page? For example the last week I had a bunch of meetings and took notes on the content and I would like to "link" or a better term would be group them all under the agenda for the week. Is there a way to do this?

I have started to use some of SQL Server 2005 and have it installed in a Virtual Machine running Windows 2003 Server setup. This server is in its own workgroup. However when I installed the server, I chose Windows Authentication.
I would like to use the SQL Managemnt Studio from my own PC to login and work on it, however I can't connect due to problems with Windows Authentication. Can I change it to login in as SA? I'm a novice to SQL so sorry for the stupidity.

So I started over two hours ago to upgrade Office 2003 to Office 2007 and am curently approaching the two hour mark with basically no end in sight. The process bar is 99% done and is just sitting there and it appears to be doing nothing.

I wonder if the problem is with my laptop based on the other issues I was having with IE7, but has anyone else noticed an install of Office 2007 takes forever?

Anyone else notice that IE7 consumes way more memory then FireFox? No matter how many tabs I have open in FF it runs more then twice as fast and responds a lot quicker then IE7 with only one tab open.
In fact, as soon as I start IE7 it appears my whole system slows down. Pages load way way slower then FF for some reason as well.

Anyone else experiencng the same?

Every time I try to do anything with access 2007, I recieve the following error message:
Workgroup Administrator couldn't create teh workgroup information file. Make sure that you have specificed a valid path and file name, that you have adequate permisions to create the file, and you have enough disk space on the destination drive.

Anyone else having this problem? I did a brief google on it, but could only find information on Access XP, though I did try the solution to register the DLL, no luck though.

I do have permissions on the location and plenty of disk space.

Can someone please explain the benifit of downloading something over BitTorrent instead of ftp or http? And by downloading I mean things like .isos of Linux and other legal files. I have done some downloads of Linux ISO and get faster speeds from just going to the site and downloading it. Is BitTorrent usually slower then ftp or http? Or have the experiences been unusual for me? Is the only benifit finding illegal or copyrighted material out there and downloading it.

Don't know how practical this is, but I would love to somehow be able to navigate directly to that last post in a thread. For example there is the threaqd about C9 stats with several pages and I was interested in the last post to see if anything has been updated as the thread is orginally from 2005. Anyway to navigate directly to that last post besides scrolling down? Just a request cause I'm a little lazy
