I would be able to re-install vs05, I just chose not. Instead, I'm keeping beta 2 on my vpc WS2003 Server - that way I won't get so frustrated if it ever does break again.
I do enjoy testing new things in Whidbey, though I'll keep all the betas on my vhd. It probably should have been there in the first place, but go figure.

The apps that were using some of the new assemblies, I just tossed out on CD. I'll put VS2005 on my virtual machine, and then load those solutions/projects up on there. That way if
anything did happen, I won't be screaming so badly. Also, I could be activily beta testing escrow in the meantime. hmmm

Tech Off - Converting VS2005 to VS2003

Low and behold, I broke Visual Studio 2005 Beta 2. I have no clue how, but it said the compiler was broken and it needed to be reinstalled. I thought that possibly it just needed to be restarted, but in fact it was pretty corrupt. All, I did was open
a bunch of mixed solutions (VB, C# and C++). Then everything went hay wire and kept launching “send reports” -- which I kept sending to Microsoft. So maybe that can be analyzed.

At any rate, the apps I was writing in VS2005 won't work on VS2003, since it's a newer version. Is there any program that can convert this back to VS2003?

Coffeehouse - A truely high performance laptop?

Well that's the better line compared to the Inspiron 1000 series. I had a friend with the 1000 and it was horrible, kept bogging down!

Though for the price, which I would say is its best attraction for the public’s eye. It gives students who are transitioning from high school to university life more economical. In addition makes it easier for consumers to get their hands on a laptop, which
overall is good in today's market (increasing wireless access points, more coffee shops:|, etc). Also Dell is backend by their award winning support.

gonna fall apart... unlike other laptops I've had. My brother owned a HP, which completly fell apart... the whole thing was just filled with problems. Also the battery life is kick-(I need to watch my language), I can get a good 6.5 hours on my 9 cell (some

Coffeehouse - Roll call - tell us who you are!

Well looks like everyone else introduced themselves, so I'll do the honorary thing in briefing myself.

I'm 21 years old; sophomore enrolled at Purdue University in Hammond, majoring in Distributed Enterprise Applications and Information Assurance & Security. They just changed my major from Software Engineering to that long title, though I did add the Information
Assurance & Security part! I'm hoping when I graduate, companies will know what that means on my résumé.

At any rate, I've been introduced to a computer when my mother brought home a Tandy i386 SX (might have been a DX). That day has been a huge transformation in my life. I wanted to not only play with it, but I was so intrigued how it worked. What was inside
it? How did it compute? Well, after few weeks my mom bought a DOS book... before she read it, I went through every command, the last one I tried was 'recover'. Whoops! Guess, I should have read that it formats the entire hard disk, lol. I started programming
in QBASIC when I was 8, nothing fancy... just general stuff.

I wasn't very fortunate in high school, though it was ranked high for academia. In school they had no programming classes and I never really had time to read programming books. During my senior year, they added “Intro to Programming (VB 6.0)” as an elective.
Of course I signed up for it, but the whole class was a joke. I ended up making presentations for the class as the teacher played games!! I used that time to read... and became a bit more informed with programming in VB 6.0.

At my first college, Saint Joseph's, I learned Java... which I learned very quickly and my professor was very interested in the passion I possessed, but since it was “Intro to Java”, I keep on 'stopping'. It's kind of aggravating... but now I'm at Purdue,
this fall I'll be learning C++. Will I ever learn an entire language!!!! Grrrrr (knowingly I will, just frustrating right now)

Any who, all I know is that my passion is technology. I constantly research and love doing it. It's something that's changed my entire life, since 8. I think back to others, who aren't sure what they wanna major in... or what they wanna do with their life.
Well I better stop talking, otherwise people won't read this... unless you stopped at the first sentence, lol

If you did read this, bravo! You surprised me... any way, it's a pleasure to be a 'niner', I love all the work that goes on here.
