I don't see what's wrong with just using MSN Messenger.
Lets face it, they will not be talking to anybody else on there, nobody uses it!
The board is a Gigabyte GA-Z68A-D3-B3 (It was on offer on my usual e-tailer, I did not specifically choose this one for a reason, but 6 sata ports certainly don't hurt...)
The PSU is being reused from my old server, and is an Antec Earthwatts 650 (I think - will check when I get home)
Used smart assembly for a long time, whist they were a separate company.
Unfortunately they have now been swallowed by the Red Gate aquisition-not-innovation system, and the price has typically spiralled.
It's not banned in the EU - only Germany.
NeverMind - wrong thread.
I ended up just purchasing an i3 board / chip / ram and a new case...
Didn't really need Xeon hardware really, it was out of an old server I was given at work.
Now to decide on an OS, WHS Vail lost its appeal when they ditched Drive Extender, and I don't agree with Amahi's business model of charging you for free apps.
Hmm...
Hi all.
My aging WHS box (2x Xeon 3.2GHz) is starting to fail, so I am on the lookout for some new hardware.
I have seen this
which seems quite a good price for an entry level server, but the fact that it is just a dual core Pentium G6950 seems a bit weedy to me.
Does anyone else know of some decent hardware for running a home server on? (Probably replacing WHS with Amahi while I am at it)
Currently have about 6 3.5in drives in the server, so the HP Mediasmart things aren't really worth it either....
Sometimes in solving problems, you need to isolate what you are dealing with.
You have a video that was captured with Kinect, and you wish to show it online.
This can be contracted to
You have a video , and you wish to show it online.
The Kinect part is irrelevant.
It really is akin to saying I have this code snippet that doesn't work correctly, I typed it using a logitech keyboard.
Once you have isolated the part that you are really dealing with, 9 times out of 10, Google is your friend.
It wasn't so much the simple "fake" extension that's of concern, it's the latter part of the article that spoofs the hosts file for instance, using seemingly identical unicode chars.
