I would use it if it showed me my energy savings in dollars not just CO2, which to be honest I don't really care about.  IF I could tell how much money I was saving then I would use it.

The problem is that right now my energy providers are not hooked up to it, so I have no way of automating my import of data, then making changes and see $$$$$.

What I'd really love is if some of the Info Card pushing folks in my office would just open up VS and add that feature to our site, instead of sending me links to MSDN when I ask questions about how to implement it

You don't take the usernames and passwords, you push to their login screens, which in turn post back to you. So there is no authenticate method as you see it.

iTunes also includes drivers for CD burning and a few other bits of functionality.

Plus the iPod has been around much longer than the UMDF so I wouldn't expect them to have rewritten their drivers for it. Neither is UMDF widely available on client computers (it isn't installed on my computer, for example).

Why can't it just be iTunes?  Why do I have to use quicktime and have quicktime installed in order for iTunes to work?

RE: Consumer Level Marketing:  My wife saw the Seinfield ad last night and laughed both times it was on TV.  Told me they were great ads, especially the little butt wiggle that Gates does in regards to eating the PCs.  Maybe the ads are hitting on the consumer level and not on the tech level?

I am surprised that even if Windows Vista (Home Premium edition) runs just fine on many UMPC, most Mini laptops still prefer XP. I have tested Vista on some older hardware, and besides the fancy Aero UI, I never noticed any slowness or problem with it. Anyone has tried installing Vista on the Dell Mini 9?

I try every new release to run Kubuntu as my main boot on my laptop and every time fail.

1.  Outlook/Exchange
2.  One Note
3.  Suspend/Resume (never works correctly out of the box in Linux)
4.  One Note
5.  Dual Monitor/Projector support:  Having to run KRANDRTRAY or however it is spelled all the tim eto get this configured correctly is silly.  Also I can't get extend to work correctly.  it is a huge wast of time to figure out

The point is not to make a workable machine that works with drivers.  The point is to only use free and open source software, because free and open source software is the only good software out there.  Everything is created by evil corporations who don't provide the source for us to examine and copy for free.
The last I heard was the gnusense was no longer going to be going with Ubuntu?  Don't remember for sure as by noow CC has sued Mark Shuttleworth and the evil empire of Canonical for forking Debian and putting  out an actual release

Yes, I know it's a small screen and it would be harder to use that way, but a primary use for me would be as a machine to remotely connect to my primary computer, and it's at 1280x800.  I don't think they make 8.1" screens at that resolution, though.

iChat is great, unfortunately it doesn't seem to be compatible with any other IM client, the only solution would be for you both to switch over to an IM client that works on both the Mac and the PC well, Yahoo does it pretty good.

Less video lag if you are going thru the same IM service as well.

Edit: It appears as though AIM is compatible with iChat, but I wouldn't touch anything made by AOL with a ten foot pole.
