Opera 10 [Opera 10]

Opera 10 went live today -- http://www.opera.com.

Turbo mode - Server-side proxy loads images quickly by sacrificing image quality.
Visual Tabs - Tabs preview on hover.
Menu-less browser (not by default) - Looks like Chrome. Tabs tear-off too though not as slick as Chrome.
Performance improvements - Fast though not as fast as Chrome or Safari 4.

Scheme in Ruby [Scheme in Ruby]

Here's yet another port of JScheme (a Java implementation of Scheme) except to Ruby this time. It's another weekend learning project to teach myself how to write Ruby code. Again, no interface to call Ruby methods from Scheme.

Here's another port of JScheme (a Java implementation of Scheme) but to Python this time. I didn't get around to implementing the API to call Python methods from Scheme. This is just something I did one weekend last year to learn how to write Python.

I get "Add Post" errors when I try to post a project to the Sandbox. Basically, it's a one-line post with a ZIP file for the project.

Google is evil, worse than PayPal

Amy Hoy and Thomas Fuchs set up a Google Checkout account for sales of their online book, Javascript Performance Rocks, in February. Some of you may recognize them for their Ruby on Rails, Prototype, and script.aculo.us work.

Google closed the account without warning or explanation and fleeced them out of the proceeds for the book in that account a month later.
