Putting the Microsoft Design Language to work
Mar 17, 2013 at 8:41 AMDeploying Enterprise Apps
Nov 30, 2012 at 11:10 PM@Basarat:OK, Will that work like it does with WP7? I wrote a simple random password generator that also generates pronounceable pass-phrases. I dogfood it myself to make sure it's usable for a while and might eventually put it up on the store after I get it to pass certification. What bugs me is that it WP7 periodically decides to revoke it's status meaning I have to re-deploy. Will Win8 and WinPhone8 behave the same way?
Deploying Enterprise Apps
Nov 30, 2012 at 12:15 PMWhat I'm really interested in knowing more about is the story for individual or hobby developers. For example, if I write an app for the interface formerly known as "Metro" for my own personal use how would I deploy it to a WinRT device that I own?

Defrag: Net Speed Apps, TrustedInstaller, Renaming Account Folders
Aug 09, 2012 at 6:31 AMOn the TrustedInstaller issue, I've found this little tweak very handy. http://bit.ly/MTbDRy It adds a right click context menu option called "Take Ownership" that lets you right click on pretty much anything and take ownership of it. Much simpler than manually editing permissions to accomplish the same thing.
Build 2012 is sold out. Tune in online.
Aug 08, 2012 at 1:50 PM@Eduardo Quintana:I had the same experience, Microsoft rejected but credit card approved the charge, when I tried to renew my MSDN subscription online. I ended up having to renew over the phone.
Kinect for Windows SDK 1.5 - Face Tracking, Seated Skeletal Tracking, Kinect Studio, & More
May 21, 2012 at 7:52 AMI'd really like to see Kinect for Windows support in Windows 8. It would make the Metro interface actually usable on the desktop where a touch screen really isn't practical. Imagine a "Minority Report" like experience for all of the swiping gestures.

Announcing Visual Studio Achievements Beta
Jan 18, 2012 at 1:01 PMPretty cool... I wish the achievements would show up on our XBOX Live avatars. It would also be cool if there were achievements for using ReSharper.
