Tensor wrote:Apply. For my Uni placement I ended up at the Royal & Sun Alliance on there graduate training programme for a year. 40 people did the initial tests at my uni alone. I dont know how many unis they went round. 2 of us got interviews. I then got on to the 2 day recruitment event they ran at there own hotel in the wilds of the wirral, along with graduate programme candidates. I got on - the only placement student that year - so it can work!
In the end they offered me a chance to go back when I finished uni but I decided on other challenges and against living in Liverpool. Often wondered what would have happened if I had gone back!

the .Net framework may well be powerful but would you really integrate it deeply into a new OS ?
Maybe when the framework is more advanced and proven we will see managed services and core functionality inside the OS.

what i didnt like is the installation of .net 2.0 setting all ASP.NET apps to run under .net 2.0 by default?
That just blatently breaks existing applications designed for .net 1.1 ?

what are you going on about ??
where have i asked for help anywhere?
Im very capable of installing drivers software and even developing for the linux platform.
If you read my post properly im reffering to ease of use for avergage joe user. IMO Windows is far easier to install and configure as everything works out of the box.
My point is Linux will never be a threat to Windows in the Desktop arena because not everyone is as clever as the people on this forum.
