This thread is soooo Microsoft. Maybe they should have Gonzales do the interview.

Hey, I started college with a 3.8 after 2 years and honors. It took 4 more long years of drugs and partying to get it down to 2.61,
..now that was an accomplishment.
Of course, this was long ago in a galaxy far, far away. -

Re: Excessive use of WGA
Hello.
I wish to add my voice to the mounting concerns over a new "feature" called Windows Genuine Advantage.
Unlike WPA (Windows Product Activation) which is transparent after one action by the user, WGA never goes away. I do not wish to have my operating system questioning me and giving me bad vibes when ever I do something which involves Microsoft or it's website.Thank you for your time

Dear Jamie,
We are truly sorry we have inconvienced you with the current piracy protection that we have implemented. BUT YOU STOLE IT DIDN'T YOU! We are reviewing our policy and are preparing to implement a much more PC method of notifying you of non-compliance. YOUR COMPUTER WILL NO LONGER BOOT...PERIOD!
Sincerely,

The reason most land mines hit the legs is because people are walking. Most beaches I have been to people are sitting or lying on the sand. So thier heads and torsos are at leg level. Also, most IED's are made from artillery shells.
Just an observation. -

No. It is not cool. It will result in a yellow card, should such a system be implemented...

Well, I for one promise to behave and treat everyone with kindness. To strive to understand rather than be understood..
Unless Keskos comes back.

Ok, best wishes Scoble...
Now to the important news, who is going to replace him? Huh?
Any ideas? -
The whole point of Vista is to be a Karmic experience. No longer bound by structured methodology, each user experiences it in thier own unique way.

(sorry Charles!)

I find it suprising that so far no one has really addressed the question. I work in local government as a sysadmin supporting about 40 different departments. In the last couple of years I am seeing a trememdous move to asp.Net/SQL web applications that appear to be much better than what they replaced...mostly Tomcat/Apache or IIS setups. Also seeing some of our major vendors, Motorola (they do a lot of 911, Law Enforcement stuff) and New World Systems are basing their apps on .Net. If you go to Microsoft Business and dig around you will find many more.
Recently our Court system moved from a DOS based system to an asp.Net application that integrates with Documentum imaging, the migration was extremely smooth. Only problem now is our Chief Justice has decided everyone has to go to a application being developed in the AdvantagePlex environment to stay synched with the original AS400 app that the state used, and it is already obsolete before even being implemented. They are at least putting a asp.Net front end on it that may well replace the 300MB client in the long run.

*sigh* Too late. I'd forgotten the stupidty of spoilers.
Thanks americans. Next time, have some thought for those of us that haven't see all your episodes yet.
Well at least none of us have mentioned Sabot's psychic intuition about the ultimate fate of the commander of the Pegasus.. ooops. -
I am thinking about a new one too. Looking at HP Core Duo's myself, but really I am still fond of my three year old 1.8Ghz Pentium IV. It is a real brick though. Interesting that you still only find 1.8 -2.4 Ghz readily available in the Celeron Mobile families that are the fastest in current laptops. (unless I am missing something)
Hard decision 64bit or dual-core?
I personally like the HP nx9000 series.
Arrrgh... as soon as you get it something bigger and shinier comes out though.
