evening all,

heres a question for microsoft,

why is everyone in the UK treated as second class citizens when it comes to microsoft?

the vast majority of offers/downloads/free things are only available in the US...

why is this?? we buy your software too (we often end up paying more).....

your thoughts people....

i know is not strictly a microsoft question ... but here goes,

has anyone got half life 2 source?

what kind of spec do i need for half life 2 source/counter strike source, i have a p4 2.94 GHz intel shared graphics and 750mb ram would that be sufficient for the game to run reasonably well?

Heres a question.

has anyone used GDI+ for drawing graphs from large amounts of numerical data?

how does well does it perform in a C#/.NET application?

is it reasonably fast ? or do you need a massive graphics card for it?

I enjoy the occaisonal video on channel9, but cant really be bothered to wait for 200MB to download (im on a 2MB line) is there anyway of making the vids smaller? or use (dare i say it) mpeg4?

it was some tripe about transferring money to my account ...... needless to say went straight in the bin, just a warning to all 9'ers out there - be on your guard

Greetings,

I am having problems with Microsoft Update utility. I have set it up to automatically download updatesand inform me when it wants to install them.

However, it never appears to downlod any updates and when I try going to the Microsoft Update page, it fails whenevr it attempts to do the updates.

I have a broadband connection so i would assume that its not a problem downloading things.....

anyone else have this problem???

any help would be great

Looks like the cull of old consoles has already started....

went in GAME and gamestation today and most of the new games for ps2 and xbox have been slashed by half price....

maybie it just the january sales?!?!? maybie a whole load of new render farms/processor farms based on ps2 and xbox are going to appear shortly.....

Has anyone tried registering the express editions?

Its well worth it as you get access to download a free book with an indroductory example. If you go for VB, you can get a VB book or if you go for C# you can get a free C# book. PDFs though but still good stuff.

I always enjoy a freebie!

EDIT: one day I might even get the Pro edition that i applied for......heres hopin

Whilst at the Birmingham event, I completed one of the Hands-On labs and found it quite useful in learning the new features of C# 2.0.

How about making these Hands-On labs available to download as pdfs along with the associated projects ?

I think that the picture of the kid on the coding 4 fun website is bad and wrong.

That kid's going to end up with rsi or something because he is plainly using the keyboard wrong.

We are all told by the Health and Safety at work gang that having to stretch to reach the keyboard mean that its in the wrong position and this can leed to rsi.

Is this REALLY the image that microsoft are trying to puvey of programmers.....

Sorry about repeating this question...i have tried the discussion board but to now response....maybie someone from Microsoft could answer this question...

I saw on the US show page that it mentioned attendees getting a copy of Visual Studio (http://www.technetevents.com/launch/)

However looking at the UK show ad (being UK-based) http://www.microsoft.com/uk/windowsserversystem/launchtour/default.mspx
and there was no mention of a copy of Visual studio...

Is this offer only for the US?
