Jan 07, 2005 at 1:51 PMBill Gates screwed up again. But this time, he wasn't alone. Such a shame for such a financially wealthy company. You guys need to get more quailty in your products for 7.1 Billion a year in R&D
Bill Gates touts 'digital lifestyle,' despite technical bugs
You have good applications, but you guys new a new Operating System. You were always an applications company, not an OS company. Don't like Linux? Contribute to the development and use the new and improved Linux kernel on Longhorn, eh? Mac has freeware Darwin BSD as it's kernel. Your NT-based stuff doesn't work anymore for the new age. Get over it. Sucks less than DOS, but still sucks!

Yes, this news comes from the MS pain-in-the-rear, Linspire, who was sued by Microsoft for infrindgement of trademark of "Windows", which ended up costing Microsoft millions of dollars instead. Ha! Ha! What a joke on Microsoft! (Get with rules of engagment, not your lies and deception!)

Read it and weap! I doubt Steve Ballmer can say anything about this move. I am sure Linspire worked out a deal that Microsoft can not back out of, in reagrds to Windows Media technology. because we all know how much Steve Ballmer HATES Linux would just love to see that penguin fry!
(the Commodore 64. The original! MS Windows - a rip off of everyone elses ideas, propagated by an illegal monopoly! Judgement Day is coming for you, MS. It is just a matter of time.)

Ken Wood - Ubiquitous computing at Microsoft Research in UK
Sep 30, 2004 at 6:30 AMNEW YORK -- In the reexamination proceeding initiated earlier this year by the Public Patent Foundation ("PUBPAT"), the United States Patent and Trademark Office has rejected all of the claims of Microsoft's patent on the FAT file system, which Microsoft describes as "the ubiquitous format used for interchange of media between computers, and, since the advent of inexpensive, removable flash memory, also between digital devices."

This is what Bill Gates gets for posing as a programmer. Remember CP/M? Remember the Osbourne? Bill, you only invented a way to get away with what you did, not the technology.

Putrajaya: In muted tones, Microsoft’s chairman warned governments and companies that open source software is not the way to go if they are in the business of creating jobs and intellectual property.
“If you don’t want to create jobs or intellectual property, then there is a
tendency to develop open source. It is not something you do as a day job. If you want to give it away, you work on it at night,” he said.

Internet Explorer Is Too Dangerous to Keep Using By Steven J. Vaughan-Nichols
June 28, 2004
Opinion: Although Linux & Open Source Editor Steven J. Vaughan-Nichols once used IE on his Windows machines, he now finds Microsoft's browser seriously insecure and endorses open-source ones instead.

This is what happens when Microsoft spends $7 Billion on R & D per year, hires legends in the industry into R & D, and still has crappy products. What is even funnier is the fact your R & D could not invent a browser from scratch, you had to steal one from a University and you do not understand it's code. It's like you took the first person you saw for a spouse, have relations with them, but still can't figure out why the sex isn't great? It is because you do not get to REALLY know them. You just use and abuse.
