I think it would be cool if Visual Studio editor in a lightweight format (so augmentation of the Visual Studio Shell) launch automagically when you do view source in IE8. Thus its time for Microsoft to replace Notepad:) as an update.

I think this would be awesome for the not so technically to pull up html or xml and it look approachable.

VS 2008 Project creation fails [VS 2008 Project creation fails]

When I hit File->New Project, pick any type of project, click ok. Down in the left hand corner of VS2008 I get an error: "Creating project '____'... project creation failed.

I tried repairing my installation of VS 2008 via setup. No Luck. Anyone gotten this issue before/been able to resolve it?

Rant: LINQ IN Action by Manning is a rehash of demos during Beta times. Not a recommended book unless your a beginner.

When it reaches Title.Text assignment gives a null reference exception. I know its able to pull the Title back from the data access layer because the Page Title setting was my informal unit test. So if not during page load when should one set such things in a Master Page :) Any ideas.

For curious: Blog is a DataAccess layer factory that pulls from a memory resident XDocument which is loaded during AppStart and anytime changes are made to the config.

I am still reserving my opinion on whether F# is really useful. I see a lot of paralells with other languages. Not comfortable enough with some the idioms to prefer them over C#s. Yes I miss curley braces.

I was converting Beth Massi's VB example of doing XLINQ from Linq to SQL to create a geoRSS to use with virtual earth or google maps.

I am having some problems getting Namespacing to work which is making IE 7 detect it as an invalid feed and Firefox shows me the xml happily:

Anyone have a good resource for learning on how to check code in and out of Team System. I just started using code plex. Seems to be radically different from SVN which is what I use by day.

Doesnt seem to take file renames to gracefully even when they are checked out. Having a hard time figuring out workflow to check stuff back in after editing.

My first forray into dynamic languages I chose Iron Python. Anyone familair enough to trouble shoot what I am doing wrong below:

Any idea why it buried in a different class when Color has FromARGB anyways :) Just curious.

Thought it would be useful to those new to ASP.NET.

I talked a little with LittleGuru on some 'Worse Than Failures' of the .NET framework this is my lastest find.

I guess someone thought it was too much power and wanted to hide it. There were probably heated debates on this stuff.

So lets do some estimating here. Average novel is 300 pages in length let's say. So this totally objective authors metaphorical liabary is 20 novels big. Hmmm. Maybe thats why he failed math. Not sure why he writes professionally no less since most people have many 'libaries' in their house.

Maybe it would be safe to say ODF is functionally limited. Just as a guess.
