ARCast.TV - Scott Hanselman on scaling websites with caching
Aug 03, 2009 at 10:09 AMHehe.. Something like that.
Bonus points if you can make Velocity into an abbreviation describing it.
ARCast.TV - Scott Hanselman on scaling websites with caching
Aug 03, 2009 at 12:23 AMThat's true, admittedly I hadn't considered such a case, only thinking about in scenarios where e.g. memcached would work. Isn't caching a bit of a wrong term for such use however?

Aug 02, 2009 at 10:34 AMTo me that sounds like you're trying to add reliability where there shouldn't be any; The cache layer. A cache is volatile; If stuff is gone, or it expires, you repopulate it. Leave reliability to the database, it's very good at it.

Oct 20, 2008 at 9:19 PMGreat talk as always, very informative and very interesting, always love your stories. You should strap a camera on Dan and head to the forest.
I was looking at your site earlier, and it doesn't quite render correctly in firefox 3.0:
This is in 1600x1200 on a CRT, so no cleartype unfortunately.

Oct 15, 2007 at 3:21 AMThe Channel 9 beta has been updated
Oct 08, 2007 at 8:18 PMProbably because of 'beta'; Channel 9 as is already uses javascript in the form of postbacks and the community bar, and I kinda doubt they'd block js in the first place, let alone have specific knowledge of asp.net postbacks
