I made my own implementation compressing DataSets with the DeflateStream class, but then I thought "hey! Create a class in that folder and set a namespace for that class.
Right click on the code file and click on "Create unit test".
A form shows up from where you choose the methods you want to test, but!, our class does not appear!!!, why?

This issue only happens when you have a clase with namespace in a folder (other than App_Code of course). I hope [Keep your passwords safe!... I hope]

I created this application to give VS2005 a try.

What it does is simple, it encrypts and saves you password to a yaps file. Append ".xml" to the end of the file name and voilá!, you'll see how the passwords are saved, plain XML structure.
All the passwords are saved with DES with a key you must enter, but that key is also encrypted and saved in the file. The key used to encrypt the key you enetered is hardcoded and you will easily find it if you debug the code.

Since I wanted to try the new Framework 2.0 features it might be a good example for those unfamiliar with generics and stuff.

Here's a little spanish lesson for the non spanish speaking niners.
Archivo -> File
Nuevo -> New
Abrir -> Open
Cerrar -> Close
Guardar -> Save

I'll leave Salir for you.

Once you opned a file you can see the password in plain text by clicking on it and the click on the last button of the toolbar, the tooltip says "Decriptar", guess what it means.

So, give it a try and tell me what you think.

.seb
http://sgomez.blogspot.com

in reply to Keep your passwords safe!...
