Coffeehouse - New SPAMing Technique ?

Since few weeks I have been experiencing unusual amounts of a typical kind of SPAMing technique.

What the spammers doing here is they send SPAM mails to any non existing email address on the net with the targets e-mail address. Due to this the email bounces back with the SPAM message to the target. Even having SPF record on the DNS does not help since
there are many many e-mail servers who don't check SPF.

Have you been experiencing similar problem ?

Coffeehouse - Memory Address Obfuscation in .NET Framework

Have you read about Execute Disable Bit in Intel Processors? Intel says:

Execute Disable Bit: This feature, combined with a
supported operating system, allows memory to be marked
as executable or non-executable. If code attempts to run in
non-executable memory the processor raises an error to the
operating system.

Also there is Data Execution Prevention (DEP) in Windows already which work well on Intel processors.

I have tried it myself on a Pentium D processor with DEP turned ON. When any attempt to execute data in memory is made, the program crashes.

Live Domains is going to become so much more!

Sorry that I didn't post my reviews earlier... So here it goes...

Live Custom Domain except that you can have unlimited email accounts and users can automatically register (if the registration is open, which is not needed by me), there is nothing, absolutely nothing provided.

Google Apps (which I am using for my domain right now) allows not unlimited but as much as you specify during registration (I gave 1000 accounts). It provides a customizable login page which can have a customized domain, thats is you can CNAME your domain to
point the login page. You can have your own logo in place of Gmails logo. Secondly it provides mailing lists. Also there is POP3 service. That is all the gmail services with your own domain name.

EDIT: Google Apps also provide catch-all-emails feature and same inbox for multiple domains can be used.

Now you decide! Live must do something to get in lead.

Thanks for your comments. I like all type of comments.

Basically, what the software is doing is just changing a registry value and using the IphlpApi.dll API calls to get all the interface related data. I think a programmer with some basic concept of calling API can write a software like this. All API calls are
there in the MSDN library. What I have done here is that I made the software usable using my skills.

Secondly, I am not into open source. I believe that some applications can remain open source without trouble but not all. When I think about open source I always get one question in my mind which is never answered by any one and that question is What does the
damn programmer get out of a software code give away? I had an experience where I coded an app and gave away code to a friend who needed some of it. What happened is that he re branded the entire software with the same code and didn't acknowledge my efforts
into it. Since then I decided not to give away the code, instead, I tell what logic it has and ask others try to do it themselves. Even if the logic is same, the quality is always different and thats called experience.

Thanks again.

Shreyas Zare

PS: If you dont want to run my app, I wont insist either. Its finally your choice.

Ya its working fine no problem with the site. Its just the ISP problem. May be they are using Proxy server which is having currupt cache.

And another possibility is that of Virus/Worm/Spyware.
Not as generally true as we woud like. There are countless counter examples.

Absolutely true though ... nobody can predict what happens in markets anyways. But this strategy has paid me at least when I invested in some good Indian companies.

When I was new in markets, I was just dreaming to do day trading and make huge profits. I would buy 1000 stocks at a time and sell it just in minutes. This was fun initially until I suffered huge losses when markets started correcting. So I am into long term
investing since then.

Coffeehouse - Need Investment Advice

Bad idea.

From my 4 years experience in stock market, I would say that if you buy stock of good company which grows steadily, you would earn more.

If you dream to invest in a dollar stock and dream that one day my money would double or triple, then this would be betting and not investing. Moreover if you plan to get in and get out of a stock just in days, its not investing but trading.

So, buy a company which had good fundamentals and forget about the stock for another 3-5 years. You will get good returns. Believe me!

Zeus wrote:

Geez ... I saw this thread goind to the garbage can when I saw the first post from Darbacour.

Let's focus on the Google App and Windows Live Custom Domains (or whatever MS has named it's Google App rival).

As i said before, I use the Google Apps, but have no experience with WLCD. One think I forgot to mention is the calendar in GA, you can share contact between accounts, you can customize the URL's you use to access your mail and calendar (mail.yourdomain.com
for instance). You can put your own logo on your mail page ... the list goes on and on.

The only thing is the size of your mailbox is fixed at 2GB (they donð't automatically grow in size as the usual GMail accounts), and you can't have any more than 25 accounts on the same domain. But i would no be surprised if they came out with a premium package
where you could get larger email boxes and more accounts for a price.

Well, while registering Google Apps, it asked for max number of email accounts required. I entered 1000 and I got it. I should have entered 100000000000000000000 (like they write Gooooooooogle!)
