I have my 8.1 update 1 configured to boot to the Start screen(!) as I have several live tiles I cast my eyes over before heading out (including the Channel 9 App!!). I notice that when I close an App either by clicking on the new close button or dragging down from the top I find myself back in the Desktop not Start. Is this also expected behaviour or is it configurable?
Keep up the good work - and Gov, have a holiday too.
Thanks Duncanma, I've set my profile to HTML 5 and all is well!
Larry - not sure what's happened to the C9 website but most videos I try to play fail with my browser set to 'Auto'. The progress bar shows 00:00:00 at start and finish and that's about it!! If I select Format /HTML 5 then videos play okay.
I am running IE8 and the latest Chrome on Vista 32bit and have same error on both.
Any ideas? Love the series on Win8 Apps!
I think this video is the first of the two you made on the same day??
The caption is for the second recording!
And here I am with a few minutes to spare before 8.1 arrives in the UK.......
I really enjoy the shows and thanks for your past help
Yet another great show. I was particularly interested in the relative links in Excel. Can this be extended to Connectionstrings? I have an Excel workbook which links to a master table using Microsoft Query. I would like to move the two workbooks to another folder or computer (both files in the same folder) but I have had no luck with the relative addressing in the Connectionstring. Any suggestions please?
