    "Send a postcard to:"

    Wait a sec.  All this tech and web this and that and we have to send a postcard?  Why not an email?  O well, guess I have to go buy a postcard.  Cheers!

  • Email back on reply and My Posts links.

    I would to be able to quickly find all my Posts/Replies to Videos so that I can come back and see what others have said or did not say.  An optional email saying someone reponded to your post would be cool too (e.g. CodeProject like)
    TIA!

  • Why dont Micorsoft use windows forms?

    "First of all, threading is the problem. Windows Forms 2.0 will take care of this problem (we hope) with the Background Worker thingy."

    No problem with threading today.  You just need to invoke any updates on the gui thread which can be done a number of ways.  For example, here is a bone simple way to update a richtextbox on the gui thread from any worker thread without the caller having to know about delegates and events - just have a ref to the form and call the public method with the text - pretty simple:

      private delegate void UpdateDelegate(string message);

      public void UpdateRTB(string message)
      {
       if ( InvokeRequired )
       {
        UpdateDelegate ud = new UpdateDelegate(UpdateRTB);
        Invoke(ud, new object[]{message});
       }
       else
       {
        this.rtbOutput.AppendText(message + "\n");
       }
      }

    Like to see some videos on DataBinding and Objects-vs-datasets in VS 2005.  Simple, Master-detail, etc.
    TIA!

  • Channel 9 - What works, what sucks?

    The videos for my.  Love em.  I would keep 5-7 newest ones the main page, and an Video Archive link on the right side.  That page will show thumb nails for the video and a 1-3 line description.  .Net Show like.

    I would like more c# and .Net code and Internals and code example links next to video Icon.  Maybe integrate Channel9 into VS and mix Rich client with IE Experience somehow.  Put the Video Icon and support in IE windows, and maybe replies and discussion in a NG like rich client below the video.  The NG story works well for question/reply, and the Web stuff for the same fuction takes a lot of realestate and hard to follow threads IMO.  HTH.

    Cheer!
