Hi, you don't know what the f. you're prattling on about. No, seriously, you don't. Don't argue it, don't question it, don't even bother trying to deny it. Do you even write software?

Remind me again why gdb even exists on Linux if applications are written completely, utterly perfectly the first time around? There'd be no need for a debugger tool because of obviously superior development environments like vi, right?

How is it that just about every single point release of PHP has bug-fixes that correct segmentation faults that occur regardless of what platform it runs on? Heck, they fixed one bug in PHP 5.1.2 (the newest version) where you could crash Apache if you passed a timestamp into the date() command. That's all you had to do to bring it down!

in reply to Re: Windows POS 7.0

<evnet:views>1</evnet:views><evnet:viewtrackingurl>http://channel9.msdn.com/343636/WebViewBug.aspx?EVT=0</evnet:viewtrackingurl><evnet:previewtext>	shooby wrote:

TORONTO—Microsoft is delaying by a full year two of its four software
patching/upgrade systems, company officials told those attending the
worldwide partner conference here.

...

Mike Nash, the head of Microsoft's security business and technology
unit, delivered the delay news to partners on Monday, the third day of
the four-day partner conference. Nash said that WUS and MU both have
dependencies on Windows Update, another of Microsoft's patching
systems. Windows Update Version 5, the most recent release of that
product, is due to go live simultaneously with Windows XP Service Pack
2.

Okay, look. This update to SUS has been promised for a very long
time already, with great fanfare and ZERO product to show for it.
And now it's being delayed for ANOTHER FULL YEAR?

Mike Nash, whoever you are, quit your job. You're a *ing
disgrace to Microsoft. The amount of ill-will that this new delay
will create in the admin community simply cannot be overstated, and is
all at once intolerable, inexcusable, and unjustifiable. If
Microsoft were really, truly committed to getting good security tools
into our hands, this product would be done by now, or at least in
public beta along with all the other next-generation MS security
products (ISA 2004 Beta 2 and XP SP2).
