I'm hearing from a good source that Microsoft is ready to give a major facelift to the company's Zune music player that could mean its evolution into a new smart phone from the company.

My source says that the new device falls under the codename "Pink" and that it will combine the company's Zune and technology from Microsoft's purchase of Danger Inc., the company that brought us the Sidekick flip phone available on T-Mobile.

 

I think I'm going to download Orcas as soon as I get to work on monday before I do any more of this project.

Really cool interview, probably one of the most interesting I've seen for ages.

It's amazing to think something MS was going to do 13 years ago (VOD) has only just in the last ~5 years started and only now with the advent of IPTV is it really starting to happen on a mass scale.

One other thing I wondered about with the yahoo stuff, is because my .net/live passport is a yahoo address will this cause any issues with WLM thinking i'm on yahoo ?

Cool video, and WLM is a great product (something I'd love to work on too) - it is my social life

One thing I'd like to see, is now that we have custom emoteicons (well since 7.5) is an ability to back them up somehow.

On the Yahoo interop, I use both, Yahoo for mail alerts and when WLM is down. I've just signed up for the Yahoo beta to add WLM contacts, not tried it yet though.
