Despite nearly a year in the market, Apache 2.4 hasn't stemmed its slide. But for me, that's not really the point. What's so interesting and healthy here is that two open-source projects are fighting for market supremacy in the only way open source really knows how: technical merit. Because both have to appeal to developers, and developers have a low tolerance for marketing speak.

In this way they will have faster and faster system to run, and developers can actually vote who wins, seems something we will never able to achieve?

Dear all,

Just read this http://macperformanceguide.com/AppleCoreRot-intro.html and thinking to share with everybody. Please read it in full before comment.

Many times it also mentioned Windows 8.

My feeling is that 'consumerism' is driving those changes, no matter which company we are talking about. This leaves all those 'professionals' in the dark, no matter which OS.

On another point, you can see clearly there are people anti-short-release-cycle in the Apple world, yet Windows will do the same soon (Windows Blue).

It does not bring much if you think in the box, i.e. the top is RT, the base is Pro, and you use each accordingly.

Out of the box: what if the two parts can sync to each other in real time? How about they behave like a single machine? The Pro could display to your HD TV, or another something with a screen (kitchenware maybe). The RT can be a screen for anything with a keyboard (your TV remote). etc. etc.

I mean: how about we have a Win8 Pro machine in the keyboard/dock part, and a Win8 RT in the screen/tablet part, i.e. when you dock, you actually have two computers together (a mini azure).
