In this opening episode of the all new Inside apps for Office and SharePoint series on Channel 9, Brian Jones, Group Program Manager for Office, Howard Crow, Group Program Manager for SharePoint, and Todd Haugen, Group Program Manager for Access, introduce the new extensibility model so developers can build a new class of productivity solutions called apps for Office and SharePoint.
Here, you'll see some demos of apps and learn more about the background behind the new app model from the Group Program Managers. They also discuss opportunities for developers such as using standard Web technologies (including HTML, JavaScript, CSS, OAuth, etc.) to build your solutions, developing in the cloud or remotely using Office 365 (no more needing to have SharePoint installed on your developer machine!), selling your apps in the Office Store, and easily distributing and managing apps.
