Why should I download videos from Channel9?
- It's an easy way to save the videos you like locally.
- You can save the videos in order to watch them offline.
- If all you want is to hear the audio, you can download the MP3!
Which version should I choose?
- If you want to view the video on your PC, Xbox or Media Center, download the High Quality WMV file (this is the highest quality version we have available).

This video demonstrates how to use Visual Studio 2010 Express for Windows Phone to add Silverlight controls to a new project. It also covers how to write C# code that executes and displays a simple message on the phone emulator's screen when a user clicks a button in your application. Later, Bob will answer the questions, "why did we do that?" and "how does this work?" in order to give you a deeper look into the significance of each step he took along the way.

Great Video series so far. Please, please keep the videos coming.
Very good video, thank you. I'm a beginner to Silverlight and Windows Phone 7 and videos like this are a great way to get stuck in.
If you get an error about screen unlocking, you may have installed a real WP7 to sync on your dev machine.
You'll have to register for a dev account on the App Hub; $99. Then using the tools on your dev machine register your actual phone using the following link.
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff769508(VS.92).aspx">http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff769508(VS.92).aspx
Also try to point the Visual Studio debug/run project to the emulator using the tool located under the phone dev folder. "Application
Deployment" tool located in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start
Menu\Programs\Windows Phone Developer Tools
I'm very glad to see all this stuff free. This could be the generation for man's technological breakthrough. Please keep it up.
Where can I download all the videos together, instead on downloading individual links.

@GonzoJr:Where in Visual Studio can I configure the emulator so that it allows me to debug the application?

I'm having the same problem!
um so I saw that Cage had the same error as I did when I tried to debug the application,
As I run the application, im getting an error " Zune software is not installed". so i tried to install it, now its saying "zune software is not launched" I dont see the connection between the zune software and windows phone development software working together.
and Cage answered his own question later saying
hahaha, i am such a dork...all i needed to do was click window simulator...
I don't see any "window simulator" button or program whatsoever, so what exactly do I do to fix this error?
so um...nevermind I figured it out haha
