Did you know that in spite of the fact that many beautiful buildings were built throughout history that the profession of Architect (for buildings) didn't really exist until 1857? Up until that time architects were either artists or really advanced builders or perhaps even project managers. Today there are a group of folks who are building a professional organization to help foster the role of Software Architect and we are privileged to have Paul Preiss the president of IASA to tell us all about it.
