Sometimes when facing a new technology stack what you need is a good example. It is difficult to know how things ought to be put together and reading the reference documentation just doesn't cut it. Recently I met with the team that built
DinnerNow.net. This amazing example shows how to put all the pieces of an app together using .NET 3.0 in an interesting business scenario. There is a lot to learn but these guys are a great
help. In this first episode I chat with
Matt Winkler about the DinnerNow scenario, architecture and how Windows Workflow Foundation is used.

Awesome interview. Great demo application. I can't wait to play with it and learn about .net 3.0

Can we have screencasts for this application to learn visually how it works?

Zeo,

Yes, we will put some of those together, once we have some time to catch our breath. We will probably do that with some of the Orcas Beta 2 (sorry, VS 2008) stuff that just dropped, as we have a nice set of labs and other content for that.

Any other suggestions, let us know, we're listening!

Thanks guys for picking up the ball and making an effort to follow-up with the Issues and Discussions on CodePlex, and for posting a Beta 2 drop. I really hope Microsoft supports DinnerNow all the way through to the final build of VS 2008, .NET 3.5, and
Windows Server 2008, because it might take longer than that for me to glean from all the exciting information in the project.
posted by stimpy77
