In this interview with Zhiming Xue “Z”, Marc Schweigert, Solutions Architect at Microsoft Public Sector Services shared his passion for and thought process of building his first Windows Phone 7 application – Per Diem Rates. He explained how he used various components and techniques such as Bing Maps REST Services, Silverlight Toolkit, MVVM Light Toolkit, TiltEffect, BackgroundWorker and PerformanceProgressBar to enhance user experience and Windows Azure Blob Storage for backend data. Marc also offered advice from his first-hand experience for developers or anyone who are interested to start creating Windows Phone applications. Check out the video to find out how Marc turned an idea to a real application and made it available at Microsoft Marketplace.
