How do I download the videos?
- To download, right click the file type you would like and pick “Save target as…” or “Save link as…”
Why should I download videos from Channel9?
- It's an easy way to save the videos you like locally.
- You can save the videos in order to watch them offline.
- If all you want is to hear the audio, you can download the MP3!
Which version should I choose?
- If you want to view the video on your PC, Xbox or Media Center, download the High Quality WMV file (this is the highest quality version we have available).
- If you'd like a lower bitrate version, to reduce the download time or cost, then choose the Medium Quality WMV file.
- If you have a Zune, WP7, iPhone, iPad, or iPod device, choose the low or medium MP4 file.
- If you just want to hear the audio of the video, choose the MP3 file.
Right click “Save as…”
- Mid Quality WMV (Lo-band, Mobile)
- WMV (WMV Video)
This is Behind the Code’s pilot episode with Core File Services architect, Mark Zbikowski. Mark began his career at Microsoft in 1981, working on DOS 1.0 as a designer, coder and liaison with IBM. His quarter century long career has included significant
involvement in OS/2, Cairo’s Object File System (OFS), and the NT File System (NTFS). In addition, he has been a key player in all of Microsoft’s File System work. Former Microsoft software architect Pat Helland interviews Mark about the early days at Microsoft,
his passion for product development and the challenges of producing software.

I'm going to watch this video while traveling home tomorrow. I have been watching another Behind the Code with Andrews Heijlsberg a few months ago. That was very nice and interesting. Let's see how this is.
Mark worked on the DOS loader and this legacy lives on in Portable Executable images today!

From Ballmer's comments of "October 2004" I'm surprised that it took 2 years to get this out.

Is that video a few years old now though? ie, would this not be Marks 26th year?
Would it be possible to follow up with Mark with a C9 interview about his recent contributions, I am sure anyone who watches this video would find it facinating to know what he's up to and if/what he is contributing to Vista.
On another note, is WinFX sort of like OFS? Did he have any part in WinFX... (hope that doesnt go the same way as OFS

You certainly will not be forgotten.
I'd like to be as successful as Mark at Microsoft. However, the interview leaves me wondering if he received all the credit he deserves. Cairo became an albatros project and Mark got punished for his dedication. Also, I'm surprised he is not in a higher position at Microsoft.

Just getting around to viewing - a bit longer than I can sit....Would it be possible to make it downloadable? I notice that "Download" is not currently one of the avail options where it is for most other vids.
