Oxite, an ASP.NET MVC based blog (Channel 9)

When ASP.NET MVC hit like Preview 3 or 4, quite a few of us were saying "We should get together and build new blog software based on MVC, it would be so fun!".

Well as good ideas go sometimes this one passed by the wayside due to lack of time available. Fortunately this is not true, when the Channel9 team had the same idea. They've build a new blog engine called Oxite based on ASP.NET MVC and their experience building sites like Ch9, Ch10, Ch8, Edge and especially MIX Online.

Check it out! Its a very nice feature set for an initial release and its a full working sample for learning ASP.NET MVC.

I agree its awful, really. I was lacking sleep when we shot this video and my "So" blocker wasn't working really well. At least you didn't have to edit it

We're not trying to compete. This is code you can run to learn ASP.NET MVC and at the same time possibly use for your own needs. We use it to run MIX Online.

yeah but where is the embed tag at the top it should be easier that you posting the code in the box? Also i never recieved a email saying you replied to the thread of mine. What up with that?

The embed tag is right there in the player, I just was trying to be helpful. And we don't have email notification about your posts, because we don't store your email address in our system.

This is awesome. I am really liking the MVC paradigm. It just seems to make sense. Any chance that there will be a detailed "How its built" walkthrough of the Oxite code? I like the video on ASP.NET MVC Storefront Starter Kit My hope is that you would do one on Oxite and show some samples of how to extend the framework with a new feature, etc.

Thanks so much for sharing this code with us, guys. I've been going through it bit and bit and teaching myself ASP.NET MVC in the process. I really like ASP.NET MVC and hope to use it in a future iteration of a project I'm working on. Cheers!

As ScottGu pointed out you can now customize MVC Code Generation with T4.

There is a free T4 Editor from tangible enginering at http://t4editor.tangible-engineering.com for both VS2010 CTP2 and VS2008.

I was looking for ASP.NET MVC RTM Version which was released a few days ago on www.microsoft.com/net but found it is located here instead.
