In this episode Symon interviews Bradley Bartz (Principal Program Manager Lead, Windows Azure) and Nagender Vedula (Principal Group Program Manager, System Center), to discuss the features and benefits of the Windows Azure Pack (WAP). The Windows Azure Pack is a collection of Windows Azure technologies that runs in your own datacenter, integrating with System Center and Windows Server to provide a self-service portal for managing services such as websites, virtual machines, SQL Server and more.
In this interview that starts at [03:50], we cover:
[04:40] What is the Windows Azure Pack?
[05:30] Demo
[10:00] Which Windows Server and System Center components are required for the WAP?
[11:00] How was this technology built with a "Cloud first" engineering approach?
[12:45] How does the WAP benefit hosters, service providers, and customers in isolated environments?
[16:00] Is the WAP an officially supported product?
[17:00] System Center offers multiple self-service portals. Which portal should customers use and when?
