Haha, awesome Laura! Seen the Helicopter game on the IE9 platform preview, does this mean that the WP7 supports HTML5 and the SVG standards supported in IE9? Even though, there are too many cool apps for WP7, have to get one soon
Keep em coming .. v. useful
How about YellowPages App - very handy.
arfet been forced to factory reset my phone only to use my us-based live account (grr) i found a nifty rss app called flux, its a thing wrapper around google reader and the free version is fully featured right now, although the guys is planning to implement more stuff later
That was a good example of the differing qualities of interface design in phone apps. IMDB looks fantastic, that Symptoms app definitely was not made by anybody with design skills and the helicopter game was "retro" so it's supposed to look that way.
Voice Recorder! Voice Recorder! Voice Recorder! A must have on any windows phone. I use it every day.
@Elizabeth Lomasky: Eh, Onenote has voice recorder built in. You should check it out.
Kepp up the good work, but shouldn't you feature the cool myChannel9 app?
Might be a blatant plug but Lorenzo Smart Solution app from iSOFT Health.
First, enterprise Healthcare app for Windows Phone 7.
@Sadatay:I think she means the app Voice Recorder, I find it to be one of the few apps I actually *use* on my phone. So far there is Shazam, Facebook, Voice Recorder, Netflix, Lazyworm Youtube and thats it.
Everything else is just novelty and is generally not needed or just plain redundant. (why do I need IMDB, Flixter, and Fandango?) How many radio/music apps does anyone need? 1 I think, and for me that one is Zune + ZunePass which is built in. I think Lazyworm and Voice Recorder should be called out as they are excellent apps
@Ahmed Cameron: I did feature Sound recorder in episode 1
@Laura10:Hi, not Sound Recorder. *Voice Recorder* Its one of your top windows phone 7 apps on bing and all over every search result for audio recording on windows phone 7. It looks really popular and is a serious tool. Many of the other apps are interesting but not really day to day usefull. The LazyWorm youtube is also extremely usefull because it makes using youtube on the phone bearable. Just my 10 cents but I find it wierd that a top 50 app that is *free* that seems to be the best sound recording app is not featured but an app burried in the 500s that costs money is highlighted. Sound Recorder does not follow Metro, does not support tombstoning recordings, and seems generally weak compared to the Voice Recorder app so it confuses me. As a dev I want to feel that my apps are being pushed equally as all the big name companies and MS employees. It seem to me like although MS is pushing for small development shops yet only apps from multi-million dollar companies are ever advertised or featured. Every day its the Giecos and Shazams, eBays, that keep being rammed down my throat while usefull apps like Youtube by Lazyworm, chess4all, et al are left in the wind. Just my opinion but it does not seem fair. when I scroll throught the markeyplace I see the same basic apps over and over and over again with only a few exceptions.
@Ahmed Cameron:Hi Ahmed, thanks for your response. I cannot speak to other places pushing the big name company apps, but for this show- I try to make it an honest mix. Each week I feature free apps, paid apps, fun apps, useful apps...everything. I'll definitely take a look at the Voice Recorder app- thanks!
Re-plug for my app Pixel Checkup, because I've now made it completely free (trial version is now fully functional/ad supported. The full version removes the small banner ad on the menu screen).
