When working with WSS, where everyone has an AD account, is there any benefit to using the Forms Based Auth over Windows Integrated? Currently we use security groups in AD to control WSS group memberships.

Thanks in advance.
I think this screen cast may be broken.
I am able to view other screencasts on your site, but on clicking 'Full Screen' for this one, I get 'Windows Media Player cannot perform the requested action at this time.'
Hope you can get it back, as it looks like a useful screencast.
Best wishes,
Peter Reavy
I configured our Version 3.0 to use forms based authentication as it was stated in the Video and it works great accept.
The user accounts created are only allowed to login once then if they log out they can never get back in it always states.
The server could not sign you in. Make sure your user name and password are correct, and then try again.
This would be great but I have not the foriest idea whats causing this any ideas would be great.
Here is an entry I found in the diagnostics log.
An SPRequest object was not disposed before the end of this thread. To avoid wasting system resources, dispose of this object or its parent (such as an SPSite or SPWeb) as soon as you are done using it. Due to flags specified at object creation, this will not be freed until processed by garbage collection. Allocation Id: {073A869C-AA26-41C1-8AE1-671E1BA70CF2} To determine where this object was allocated, create a registry key at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\Web Server Extensions\HeapSettings. Then create a new DWORD named SPRequestStackTrace with the value 1 under this key.
And Also
Localized resource for token 'DistributionLists_Alias' could not be found for file with path: "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\12\Template\xml\base.xml".
These errors are thrown each time a user trys to login using forms
I am also getting the following error as well
Cannot delete temp file: C:\WINNT\TEMP\OLD168.tmp Error = 5
I am having problems publishing an excel list to my site. I have installed
wss 3.0 and added aspnetsqlmembershipprovider as the authentication. I have
anonymous access disabled, with client integration enabled. When I try to
publish the xls file it returns an error saying that it cannot find the site.
I checked the url and it is fine.
Also, if I have I have the default windows authentication setting enabled
excel can publish fine. I was wondering if any one has been able to publish
excel files with forms authentication?
Thanks,
Paymon
This tutorial is really excellent
However, i have a question : does it works if you don't have the SharePoint sServer - I mean, if you want to install it on the free version of SharePoint WSS 3.0 ?
I would have another question, because i'm quite new on the subject
Thank you very much for your help and for this video.
Best wishes,
Gzave
Thanks for the webcast. It appears that your Visual Studio 2005 environment is different from mine. What Visual Studio 2005 environment should I install to successfully follow this tutorial? I am a new system administrator who has unfortunately inherited this task.
Thanks,
Utility_Man
It's broke. But it's the thought that might have counted
Great Work Buddy,...Can we expect something similar video on FBA for SharePoint 2010... Do you know any video URL?.. Would be great help and appreciated..
