Smooth Streaming

Adaptive bitrate streaming - little buffering but lower video quality at times of low bandwidth. Silverlight 5 required

Progressive

Traditional buffered video format. Silverlight 5 required

HTML5

For browsers that support H.264 MP4 or WebM video playback such as:
IE9+, Firefox 4+, Chrome 5+, or Safari 4+.

Flash

For browsers that have the Adobe Flash Player plugin installed.

Since Windows Phone doesn’t allow 3^rd party applications to run in the background, your code can’t listen to or poll the Web for updates. However, Windows Push Notification Service overcomes this communication issue, making it possible for Windows Phone devices to receive Push Notification Messages even when applications aren't running.

Is anyone else getting an error from the Push Server: "The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found."

The output chanel resolves to http://sn1.notify.live.net/throttledthirdparty/01.00/AAGS7iHQsR76QLd__UiLE5EZAgAAAAADAQAAAAQUZm52OjIzOEQ2NDJDRkI5MEVFMEQ and the RAW Http Message works but Toast and Tiles fail accordingly.

Did you remember to bind the channel for both toast and tile? It should look something like:

httpChannel.BindToShellToast();
httpChannel.BindToShellTile();
