  • I hate to burst bubbles - but is this really show 200?  I don't see a show 188...it goes 187...189.

    Wheres the lost episode?

I liked seeing peoples work spaces. At :16 seconds there is a number on the wall. Was that from running a race or some kind of event? What is with all the orange shirts in the room? I liked the art work on the wall at 3:28. Is that his personal art work or did Microsoft hang the picture in his office?Hey that was Laura at the end of the video.
Suggestions: Now that Bill Gates is back he can co-host an episode.:) On location taping at E3?

    I second that

  • Awesome episode =D

I love the Army of Darkness reference at 04:30 with the Channel 9 guy!     ;)

@question: I think that you guys did a good job of video-bombing fellow 9'rs for information.  The unpolished thought process (usually) is more entertaining when catching people off guard.  Don't bring the guests to the studio, go to them in their office for the scoop (if you can and won't be escorted out of the building by security).

  • Congratulations on the big Two Oh Oh!

Over 8K views in less than 24 hours.

You're clearly doing something right. Keep on doing what you're doing, it's all good.

  • RayRay

Great episode, glad you guys had some footage of Laura and Paul at the end.
I think it would be great to have more remote videos (like in the early days of channel 9).
On location would be awesome too.

  • Benjaminblacqwolf Local Weirdo.

This was pretty awesome. What a shame, though, Laura had to leave so close to the 200 mark. (Not that you guys aren't good!)

  • IRBIRB

Well done on 200, to all the folks involved both past and present.

  • I love the Helmet tilley Cam....

@Jason818: regarding specifics on the office interiors - they were real offices, decorated by each individual. MSFT employees get assigned blank offices (with windows if you have seniority on the team) that have standard equipment of corner desk, small worksurface, large worksurface, standard office chair, hanging bookshelf, hanging whiteboard and hanging corkboard.  Once you take possession - you can equip / decorate / organize as you see fit with personal items.  Some go so far as putting down area rugs, custom desks / chairs, treadmills, standing desks, couches, leather chairs - whatever!

Regarding the first Q you have (numbers on the wall) was to a race Mark was in a while back. Why extra shirts in Mark's office - he keeps spare ORANGE shirts just in case he needs to shoot a #pingshow.

As for ArtWork on the wall of Simons office - those are personally curated comic graphics he had mounted and hung on his wall. They arrived in his shipping container from the UK a couple of weeks back.

FYI: I have a comfy leather couch in my office and a "lounge" recliner chair next to my standing desk with dual monitors.

@RicksterCDN: ping is my favorite show on Channel 9. Thanks for your response in answering my questions.

That was a fun show for #200. It was good to get a walk around. The head cam was great. Much better than the other soft lensed fuzzy cam. The outtakes were worth the wait but who is Bob? Did we ever get to see Bob or is he like "Jimmy" on Colbert?

The future? What has stood Ping apart imo has been a willingness to take on topics tangential to MS and even discuss rumors. It made the show more real because it dealt with things people were really talking about. Obviously there's a line and we know that but I always liked it when a cool sounding rumor was handled with a discussion about it and the hosts would say "That sounds really cool! We don't know anything about it but we like it" or something like that.

So I guess my hope is to keep getting more of that. There is a lot of MS related tech news that pops up. Just keep telling us what you think about it. Make it your own show. Put your personality into it and it will do fine. Only thing I'd add for sure is more robot news. Maybe get Clint on a bit more to talk about how his robot army is coming along.

You do actually get to see Bob for a short moment when we walk into the studio, just after [10:52].  That may be the first time he's been on camera too :)

Thanks for all the feedback, we really appreciate it.  We do welcome stories like the Oculus or in this episode the EMOTIV headset that aren't really MS related, but are cool technology or just things we're interested in as geeks.

Thanks again, and we'll do our best!

  • Weird - so if I search on Channel 9 for 'ping 188' - it will list the show - however, when I click on it - I get a page not found. (http://channel9.msdn.com/Shows/PingShow/Ping-188-Cortana-for-all-Nokia-wins-Imap-support-Ipda-trade-ins)

Was there something in the show that shouldn't have been?  Is that why Laura is no longer on the show? Something seems off here.  Maybe that's a topic for Ping 201.

I still question whether the guys can even count to 5, so counting to 200 is like 40 times as difficult. :)

Just had a free moment to watch the outtakes. So many good memories... it's unfortunate many of the follow-up comments and segments couldn't go on air. They were so much fun to film.

Best of luck on making it to 300 episodes!

    Priceless!!! Really good one.

Woah! How did I miss this show?! Love the outtakes :D Damn, 100 episodes is about two years, it's been great to be with Ping to see how it has been growing and evolving since when I started watching Ping around episode 50 or so. Good luck making it to episode 300! :D
