  • On the hardware question - I'd love a Win8 touchscreen monitor.  I figured shortly after the Windows 8 launch they would start coming out - but its been a year and a half and you cant find them.  I just did a Amazon search for 'windows 8 touchscreen monitor' and the results are pretty slim.  I have a touchscreen on my Win7 desktop - which is now Win8 and it works great except that it has a bezel on it which makes swiping from the edges almost impossible.  How come there aren't more Win8 specific touchscreens out there?

The devise/application I am most looking forward to in the future is the comprehensive theorem prover. There are a few questions I would like a proof for. First: Is Good an Evil a universal constant or are they constructs of human imagination. I imagine the machine that can answer this question would be one that can take human speech and turn it into mathematical logic. Second: Is there a God. I figure with a mathematical proof to this question the debate would end for many people and we could all get on in peace and harmony. I guess we would have to define what God is before asking the machine. Does our definition of God have a white flowing beard? Is God a man or woman. Or the definition could be as open as what created the universe? Is the universe intelligent? I can think of other questions to ask it but those would be my starters.

I have asked these questions of both Bing and Google but both systems leave something wanting. Don't get me started on all the other methods for finding out these questions, they are just as helpful. That is why I look forward to having a comprehensive theorem prover. :)

The last console I owned was the original Xbox. I loved playing Halo and Halo2 on it. I'm contemplating getting an Xbox one. The new Halo under development, Star Wars battle field and Destiny all look intriguing. I like the look of titanfall but there is no campaign. It will take one of the other games I mentioned to tip the scales.

I'm currently rocking the 8.1 update on my Lumia 1020 and love it, so many great little additions have been added, they have done a great job. Just have to wait on Cortana sadly, to hit the UK.

The only thing I'm waiting for hardware wise is a Surface Mini :)

@Jason818 The questions you want answers to can't ever be answered, imo.

So the Lenova 11e will not go flat? If it is for students, it will. It may be Claused, but it will go flat.

  • IRBIRB

@John: Yeah, not going totally flat into tablet mode is just silly.

@credits - Glad to see that Wes Craven directed ping #204

@hardware - As much as I like new gadgets, I'm still holding onto my HTC radar that is running WP 7.8.  When WP came out, I was hopeful that there would be an upgrade path similar to that of their flagship OS.  Unfortunately, that's not the case.  I know there are better phones out there, but this one works well all around (and has better battery life than the more powerful phones that do essentially the same thing phone/text/photos).

  • Updated information: The 11E "YOGA" will go the whole 360 degrees. There are non "yoga" versions that don't offer the touch screen and are the standard variety clamshell.

I really loved my Dell Venue Pro (the WP7 phone).  It is a shame that there wasn't an upgrade path from 7 -> 8, but we are getting 8.1 to all WP8 phones, all the way down to the low-end 520s.

I played hours and hours of Fusion Frenzy on the original Xbox. Such a great party game.  And as cool as Xbox Live is, I do miss the days of Halo LAN parties.

@MarkDeFalco:I wish MS would bring back NFL Fever, loved those games but sadly EA muscled in and now own the NFL :(
