I don't know if this is the best place to ask this, but for the past couple of weeks (if not a month) I have been getting really slow downloads from Channel9. I have been searching around, and it seems like a number of people from Australia seem to be having this issue also. Through my standard ISP I am getting under 2K per second, but speed tests and downloads from other sites are around 600K per second. And here is the really odd thing, when I VPN into work, I am getting around 350K per second, so I will be speaking with the IT department to see if they have any configured routes going on?

How about a little deep dive instead of just talking about building blocks that we can use, plumbing, that we supposedly don't need to do anymore and clicking through a master details page with some sorting, paging etc. .
Maybe the casing should be silverLIGHT tv.
Backpacker86 - Thanks for the feedback. We have some other videos on RIA Services that go into code including Nikhil's, Jeff Handley's and Deepesh's from last week). This episode was all about the road to RTW. We already have several RIA Services shows lined up to film over the neext few weeks too.
RIA Services is hugely important in Silverlight and we'll certainly cover it well
can you please update the player to pin the screen in full screen mode? it's just one line of code...
Nice work. John we would like to see a simple end-to-end application done step by step in Silverlight TV. Application can be even a todo list with couple of tables-3-4 columns each. There are video like these already but they are not SilverlightTV style (meaning discussing each step-you playing interrogator). This helps us remember the caveats easily.
Could you please cut down the size of the videos for download. This 13 minute video is 176 MB. Thats huge.

I have tried to use RIA a few times on the project frameowrk that I am using, but it just doesn't quite fit. The one thing that I do like is that I can add an attribute and get involved in the proxy generation.
I have looked at trying to create a custom wcf proxy gen based on the standard one (Microsoft.VisualStudio.Editors 10.0.0.0) but not knowing VS and EnvDTE very well I am a bit lost. What I really want is to have complete control over the proxy generation such that I can add an attribute onto my regular WCF service (non-RIA) and this points to a type in my project (so I can test) and that this gives me the proxy and the related class that its based on such that I can add methods or attributes or anything.
Does this make sense? How difficult would it be and is it feasible to do from the existing WCF proxy gen or should I start higher up the chain than the svcmap file.
