yes, MSE = Microsoft Security Essentials. Sorry for the confusions

The PC is fast if I use NOD32, but if I remove NOD32 and install Microsoft Security Essentials instead, the Explorer is extremely slow to browse trough all folders. The service of Microsoft Security Essentials is causing 100% CPU usage. I run Procmon next to see more.
A lightening storm is bearing down. Windows 7 has apparently downloaded installs at some point prior but not installed them. The user goes to quickly shutdown Windows prior to pulling the plug from the wall. There isn't an option to bypass installing the updates? However, "shutdown /s" does bypass?
@MagicAndre1981: I've seen the same thing happen, at time, with the corporate variant Microsoft Forefront. No scan in progress. The GUI just sits there and says that everything is good, but then the process is eating up all kinds of resources.

i have been using ie9 ,w7,mse and i have 2% max utilisation while streaming here.so i guess the guy having an issue with mse have issue elsewhere.it prob is your browser if you arent using ie9.only time i had a lot of cpu utlisation from mse is on the first time when i downloaded it i had to make it scan my whole system.ms also has a offline scanner!
http://connect.microsoft.com/systemsweeper.it is in beta but with this if there is a program that hide it self behind other stuff and mse,or malicious software removal tool cannot access because of various reason sweeper will hack and slash any program that shouldnt be there.(does take a while to scan so it is best done in the night while you sleep)

Just habit. There were changes historically that would only commit with "apply" and ok wouldn't commit them. So it is just me being paranoid.
