@briankel Nope. I'm watching this on the Xbox now, where I've also got a Kinect attached, and you didn't voice control my Xbox. Nice try... LOL
General Note: One thing to remember is the Kinect commands are context based. So "Xbox Play DVD" is an unknown command in the IE context. Now if you said, "Xbox Go Back..."
Na, even that wouldn't work. The Kinect and its Mic Array is smarter than that. That's why its voice commands work at all when you're playing a move/video/game/etc. It knows the direct from which the voice commands are coming from (and whom to ignore... cough... like all "Brian's".. . cough
Final Note: When viewing TWC9 or any Channel 9 video on the Xbox and you have a Kinect, use the "Fullscreen" command. It will play the videos full screen (even if the website hasn't exposed that kind of feature).
If you're interested in all the supported voice commands check out the above linked Internet Explorer for Xbox Developer's Guide, Page 6...
I am so not impressed by Sinofsky skateboarding on a Surface. I want to see Ballmer do it.
That Web Essentials plugin rocks! Crazy.
LOL!
Seriously, thanks for all of the info Greg. I kind of assumed that the Kinect would be smart enough to filter out any noise coming from the Xbox itself, but I wasn't 100% sure. Good to know.
"Will it blend?" Really?
Come on. It always blends.
