Unfortunately many PDC videos are out of sync when downloaded
i.e. Pablo Castros OData session. It begins ok, but after some time it loses synchronization and is unwatchable
@wisnia: Yes, the video team is aware of this and is re-encoding every video. The live video sync should be fine though
you're missing a link to Greg Duncan's session list above:
http://coolthingoftheday.blogspot.com/2010/11/pdc-10-session-video-list.html
just simple question
what is the difference between wmv-high and mp4-high
cause the mp4 is larger in size than wmv and both look the same to me
which the highest quality?
@athman:Maybe it's not about the quality but the target of the files. They may look the same but you may not be able to put a WMV file on your portable like you can with MP4 file.
@markheath: Thanks Mark! added in link
@athman: we have the mp4 for stuff like html5 and portable devices
The Mp4 encoded at 480 x 272
The WMV-HQ is typically encoded at 1280 x 720
HQ has more than 7 times the resolution of the MP4 version
@clint
mp4 also have a version of High Qualtiy as it also have the low quality
i ask because i saw the mp4 is larger than wmv which i thought it will be better but i didnt recognise any difference thats why i confuse
but what abt the codes when the speaker gives a demo both doesnt show it well as it was for last year in pdc09
i try download the future of VB and C# and the codes in the demos was not clear
@Dan:Any dates on when the videos will be reencoded?
@Clint: So with HQ you could see Dan's untrimmed nose hair.... OK... I will avoid HQ
@Minh: You know you want to see them
@Dan: I now have a strange urge to see em haha
@athman: we currenly only encode mp4 at the 480 x 272 profile. HQ videos with large resolution is useful for screen capture and being able to read code.
For this video
WMV @ 1280x720 is 205mb
MP4 @ 480x272 is 95.8mb
PDC videos all should have a high quality link to them.
