I'm assuming XAP stands for XAML Application Package.
the mdl guys found some very interesting references to appx and immersive apps inside the silverlight5 mscorelib, but im guessing you cant comment on that
build is only three days away but it cant come soon enough
@dentaku: Probably but the Silverlight FAQ says it's just a Silverlight Application Package. From what I can tell, the X doesn't officially stand for anything.
"How many ways can you slice a URL and name the pieces?" sounds very useful. Thanks! I am working on a related problem.
Yup. I seem to remember hearing that when it first came out now that you mention it.
The x makes it stand out and it makes it sound allot like .zip which is what a .xap is anyway.
It stands for the same thing as the "S" in "Harry S Truman".
Little known fact perhaps. Tantek used to work for Microsoft and has helped draft W3C specifications.

Thanks for the shoutout to ExtensionSync guys! You pronounced my name just fine :).
@Richard.Hein: Now that I think of it, I never did find out what the X in .aspx stands for.
@Bas, From what I have heard it stands for Extension.
@CH9: It may help to feature my Mega Collection of Silverlight 5 Demos. I found that several small demos are easier for developers to digest. http://geekswithblogs.net/mbcrump/archive/2011/05/11/michaelrsquos-ldquomega-collection-of-silverlight-5-betardquo-demos.aspx
@DeathByVisualStudio:Big deal, so I make shrimp in my bedroom. I don't see anything unusual about that.
