Join your guides Brady Gaster and Cory Fowler as they talk to the product teams in Redmond as well as the web community.
In this episode, Brady welcomes Glenn Block back to Redmond from his three-month trip to China, where he worked with the Windows Azure team helping them develop a new service and connected with the Chinese developer startup community raising awareness around Windows Azure and the way Microsoft is embracing OSS. Glenn talks about the Chinese open-source community as well as a conference he helped execute and does a few demonstrations of deploying Node.js application code from CodePlex and GitHub.com to Windows Azure using the Node.js CLI tools.

Is Windows Azure even available in China?
lol welcome back
He left?
@imgen Azure is available in China though there are no data centers located in PRC. There are dcs however in Hong Kong which is very nearby. The signup experience though to use those DCs in Hong Kong is not at all ideal.
@cbae I was in China for 3 months. I did not leave
You're intentionally confusing us, as now we believe you are still in China!
I would imagine data centers are suspicious for the Peoples Republic of China ~ tricksey Yanks...
@JohnAskew
Ha ha. No I am not still there, I mean i never left Microsoft or my team. I just worked over there for 3 months.
No comments on the data centers....
I am happy to say that people I spoke to were very open to the idea of Azure. Many had no idea though that we even care about OSS/PHP the stacks they care about.
