How do I download the videos?
- To download, right click the file type you would like and pick “Save target as…” or “Save link as…”
Why should I download videos from Channel9?
- It's an easy way to save the videos you like locally.
- You can save the videos in order to watch them offline.
- If all you want is to hear the audio, you can download the MP3!
Which version should I choose?
- If you want to view the video on your PC, Xbox or Media Center, download the High Quality WMV file (this is the highest quality version we have available).
- If you'd like a lower bitrate version, to reduce the download time or cost, then choose the Medium Quality WMV file.
- If you have a Zune, WP7, iPhone, iPad, or iPod device, choose the low or medium MP4 file.
- If you just want to hear the audio of the video, choose the MP3 file.
Right click “Save as…”
- High Quality WMV (PC, Xbox, MCE)
- MP3 (Audio only)
- MP4 (iPod, Zune HD)
After the
previous episode on the WF Batch Job example went live many people asked me if there was a way to automatically start a batch job at system boot. There is a way and I described it in
this blog post. For more detail, check out this episode as I show you how to do it.

Hi Ron,
great series on WF - have enjoyed them a lot.
Is it possible to auto start a workflow just via web.config configuration?
<microsoft.applicationServer>
<hosting> <serviceAutoStart> <add relativeVirtualPath="Service1.xamlx" /> </serviceAutoStart> </hosting> </microsoft.applicationServer>
rather than having to make an internal call within Global.asax to call back into the service to kick start it?
I found a thread here:
http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/dublin/thread/22c33c90-6bef-40e9-8b28-9aada4157281
that almost answers the question - but still no definitive answer.
My scenario is that I want to replace a Windows Service that pops items off a Queue for processing and what I'd ideally like is a WF4 activity hosted with AppFabric that is auto started enabled - but I just can't seem to find a way for it to automatically invoke the workflow...
Many thanks,
Howard
