Jeff Derstadt is a developer on the Entity Framework team, and in this video Erik visits Jeff to learn more about what he does day to day. Jeff and Erik talk about programming data, generally, and the Entity Framework development model, specifically. We learn about how Jeff got into software development, how/why he landed in the data world, things he's working on, his team's interaction with developer customers, providing the things users of EF need/want - like Code First-, and the software engineering processed employed by his broader development team, especially as it relates to the developer-tester relationship. <itunes:summary>Recently
Bob Familiar had the pleasure of sitting down with Michael Iantosca, CEO of
eDefine, Paul Hamnett, VP of Engineering at the
Institute of Healthcare Improvement (IHI.org), and Kerri Sweeney, Director of Development at IHI, to learn about a new Silverlight based solution they have created for the healthcare quality industry called the

Improvement Map. This video includes an overview of IHI.org from Paul Hamnett and an in depth review of the application, the architecture and a demo from Kerri Sweeney and Michael Iantosca.
There is a case study that details IHI's Silverlight solution
here and an architecture deep dive

geekSpeak Recording - Persistence Ignorance and Entity Framework 4 with Dane Morgridge

Persistence ignorance is one of the biggest features missing in Entity Framework 1 and one of the most exciting features coming with Entity Framework 4. In this webcast, Dane Morgridge explains how to use plain old CLR object (POCO) classes to build applications
that take advantage of the Entity Framework but carry no dependency on it, letting you build services more easily, which makes unit testing simpler and allows for greater separation of concerns without writing your own classes. Microsoft Visual Studio 2010
contains T4 templates to generate the POCO classes so that you can use all the same tools when working with the Entity Framework. This geekSpeak is hosted by

His current passions are Entity Framework, Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), Windows Communication Foundation (WCF), Microsoft

Entity Framework 4: Part 1 - Simple Model First

This is part 1 of a series of short introductory screencasts to the new features of ADO.NET Entity Framework 4, which is part of .NET 4 and Visual Studo 2010. It was created using Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2.

In this 10 minute screencast I explore the new Model First capability of Entity Framework. Model First allows you to create your Entity Data Model from scratch, focusing on defining the conceptual model from which we can then generate a database schema and
mapping.

It is based on the demos I delivered during my Entity Framework session at TechEd Europe in November (DEV305).

Links:
