      <title>OCZ’s Ibis SSD Offers Blistering Speeds, With a Capital B</title>
      <description><![CDATA[<p>So you think you’ve got a pretty fancy rig, then? Ah, you’ve fitted one of those solid state drives - I hear they move data fast, but not quite as fast as OCZ’s new IBIS SSD, which transfers data at speeds up to 2GBps.&nbsp;</p><p>That’s no typo – you can keep your gigabit per second (Gbps) drives. We’re talking giga<strong>byte</strong> per second (GBps) here.       <title>Faster Solid State Drives for Windows 7 Arrive</title>
      <description><![CDATA[While Windows 7 supports Solid State Drives (SSD), there is a speed increasing feature that hasn't been leveraged yet. The technology is called a&nbsp;<a shape="rect" href="http://blogs.msdn.com/e7/archive/2009/05/05/support-and-q-a-for-solid-state-drives-and.aspx" shape="rect">TRIM operation</a> and it makes the drive faster with more complete delete operations and&nbsp;reduces wear.&nbsp;<br><br><a shape="rect" href="http://www.corsair.com/" shape="rect">Corsair Memory</a> and <a shape="rect" href="http://www.ocztechnology.com/" shape="rect">OCZTechnology Group </a>have released firmware updates to enable TRIM on some of their SSD's. Once installed, Windows 7 also disables ReadyBoost, Superfetch, and Disk Defrag, which are better used for speed increases on platter hard drives.
