Continuing on, Joseph explains how Advisor works along with the types of problems that it can detect across the different Microsoft workloads, including Windows Server, Hyper-V, SQL, Exchange, SharePoint, and Lync. At [14:30] Joseph shows a demo of Advisor integration with SCOM, including creating an account, configuring monitoring and the proxy server, discovering managed servers, and reviewing alerts and reports (he also provides guidance for how to resolve the alerts).

The conversation then focuses on Hyper-V migration between clusters and different options to move your VMs between different versions. At [11:30] Rob demos a VM migration from a Windows Server 2008 R2 cluster to a Windows Server 2012 cluster. In this demo, all the VMs are running on Cluster Shared Volumes (CSV) and we describe how to remap the virtual networks for the VMs when they move to a different set of hosts. Finally, Rob shows the actual migration and how to minimize the downtime for the VMs while they are transferred to the new cluster. Technical Interview: At [06:50] Symon met with Adam Hall, a Senior Product Marketing Manager for System Center, to discuss operations and management for applications in a private cloud. Adam first provided a historical overview of monitoring with System Center 2012 Operations Manager, including the AVIcode acquisition, and why monitoring is important for not just availability, but also for performance.  Next they discuss the relationship between the infrastructure or operations specialist and the developer of the application, and how the barriers between the two parties has been reduced with this release.  Adam then demos Application Performance Monitoring (APM) and connectors between Operations Manager and Team Foundation Server (TFS).

In this session, led by Fernando Guillot Gimeno, we present you DirectAccess, and its advantages regarding other remote connection solutions, such as VPN. 

Kevin explains how the team migrated from a traditional thick client application to a more client server application. He demonstrates how Silverlight and ASP.NET are used to help users create "What if" scenarios. What if I applied more resources? What if I could delay a project?

ProModel uses Silverlight as a rich user interface into simulations built on top of Project Server without changing the underlying projects. Users also visualize quickly view simulations across an entire portfolio of projects.

ProModel's Enterprise Portfolio Simulator is built on Windows Server 2008 R2 with a user interface migrating from ASP.NET to Silverlight.

used for troubleshooting Windows issues at the 2010 Certificate Protocols Plugfest.  

Scott Roberts, Principal Program Manager Lead provided an overview of the Directaccess implementation for Windows 2008 R2 and Windows 7 at the Direct Access Windows Protocols Plugfest.  Protocol behavior and
