Question: How to back up items of exisitng version and import in the latest version of Guidance Explorer?

Answer:

As there have been large UI changes it might break references of the guidance item that you have created. Please use the following process for backing up your guidance items and add to the new version of Guidance explorer.

Before you XCOPY the new version, in the old version Go to root node for each Guidance Type select the items which you have created / modified and want to back up.

* Right click and "Export <Guidance Type> As Xml..." option and save to a back up location.
* Then XCOPY deploy the new version of Guidance Explorer.
* In the new version of Guidance Explorer, Go to My Guidance Node right click and select "New Folder", name the folder as "Back Up".
* On the "Back Up" folder right click and select "New View", name the view as "Back Up Items".
* On the "Back Up Items" right click and select "Import Item", go to the back up location and select all the xml files and hit open.

It will import all the items into the new version of Guidance Explorer.
