Here is the steps for adding new Guidance Types in GE / Authoring Toolkit
Add a New Guidance Type

* Go to File menu and choose "Add / Remove Guidance Type" option
* In the "Add / Remove Guidance Type" dialog click Add button.
* In the "New Guidance Type" dialog, enter the Guidance Type Name, Display Name and List Display Name, this are compulsory fields.
* Optionally enter "Path to the Template", "Path to the Example" and "Path to the Icon" to be associated with the Guidance Type.
* Assign attributes from "Available" list to "Assigned" list which you want to associate with the Guidance Type
* If you need additional Guidance Type specific attributes, click the Create button and enter the attribute name. Then associate the attribute with the Guidance Type by moving the newly created attribute from "Available" list to "Assigned" list.
* Then Click OK on the "New Guidance Type" dialog.
* Again click OK on the "Add/ Remove Guidance Type"

The tool will be restarted and after that the guidance type is available through New Item file menu or right click context menu for creating items of that type.
