Summary: Saving/Exporting views Feature description

Saving/Exporting Views

Different kind of views will be able to be exported in different ways. Th following table describes the options for each kind of view:
* Standard Views. Views created by the user that will be populated by dragging and dropping items from other views (or the library).
* Export View. Allow saving the view to an Xml file including the format of the view (Columns removed, column sizes and column order), and the content of the view (all items that have been dragged into the view). The format used in the Xml file allows importing the view later in the same GE installation or a new one.
* Save View. Allow saving the view contents in a different format, such as Word document or Html web pages for later usage. The format of the page depends on the guidance type, but currently the only guidance type that is different is the checklists.
* Search Views. Search views could be created in two ways: Right Click in the "Search Views" node or by typing some text in the Full Text search in the main pane and saving the view.
* Export View. This command will save the view in an Xml file including the format and the search criteria. The format used in the Xml file allows importing the view in a different GE installation. When the view is imported in a different GE the contents may change due to a difference in the library contents.
* Save View. Allow saving the view contents in a different format, such as Word document or Html web pages for later usage. The format of the page depends on the guidance type, but currently the only guidance type that is different is the checklists.
* Save View Contents. An Xml file is created without the criteria, containing the the contents of the view and its format. This view can then be imported as a new view, and its contents will be static.
