A better SDK for Office
(OfficeSDKs) A better RSS feed for Office development
(MsdnOfficeRss) In Microsoft Outlook, responding to the "you have new mail" dialog should allow you to know you have more than one message, instead of showing you only one message.
* Make it possible to save all types of documents as pdf's. You should also be able to save a
PowerPoint presentation or a form made in
InfoPath/Word to the right pdf format.
* Make it possible to sync email, contacts, calenders etc. between computers on the LAN (etc. my laptop and my workstation) without having to have an Exchange server running. (Too expensive and big just for syncing those things). Maybe an Active Sync that works on LAN, so my laptop syncs with my workstation as soon as I connect to the network (uPNP announce could do that).
Spell Improvements
It is great that office has such a huge dictionary and it is also a problem. I often get Office saying words are OK, when they are spelling errors/typos, but there is some obscure word that is speeled the way I mistyped or misspelled. What would be great is to have layers of dictionary, maybe the 10K most common words, the next 20K, etc. Some specialized dictionaries. I could then choose the level of dictionaty I wanted.
I'd also like to have multiple personal dictionaries and be able to attach a given one to a given document or all the documents in a directory. For example, I have a directory with various White papaers and it needs some secial technical jargon. A different directory for the soccer team notice and mailings shouldn't use that dictionary.
Finally, you should be able to add a word not to the dictionary, but to a list that is OK just for the specific document.
