Summary: Welcome to our Wiki - and here are some hints

Welcome to this WikiWiki. This Wiki is brand new and is always hoping to recruit newcomers with valuable contributions.

All Wiki content is work-in-progress. This is a collaborative forum where people can share ideas and record any consensus reached on difficult issues, along with rebuttal. It changes as people come and go, as experience develops, and as opinions change. If you are looking for authoritative or stable information, you may need to look elsewhere.

The general tone here is casual and respectful. Unlike chat rooms, newsgroups, or private e-mail, Wiki content is expected to have some seriousness and permanence. Authors are encouraged to write thoughtfully and to think about how their writings fit in with the rest of the existing wiki content. That doesn't mean we don't allow fun and frivolity here, it just means that we try not to waste one another's time by writing without thinking.

Please do any testing or experimentation on the PlayPage, before you AddContent or AddNewPages. Creating new pages that do not have important content is annoying and impolite. It is also impolite to change existing pages if you do not improve them in some way (adding questions qualifies as improvement). On the other hand, it's best when you do change existing pages and improve them in some way.

When you do start making changes to this wiki (and you should do so soon!), please make yourself known:
  1. Create your own WikiPage
  2. Use WikiSignature when appropriate

Here are a few things you can do to get a feel for Wiki:
* Play on the PlayPage, especially if you want to try out some WikiEmoticons
* Bookmark the Recent Changes list (see the menu) and watch how things change.
* Stay current with groups of related topics by subscribing to a WikiNewsletter@FlexWiki
* If you have any questions, ask the WikiHelpDesk.

Some say you should probably read widely on this wiki and AddContent to existing pages before adding any other new pages. On the other hand, to AddNewPages can be just the thing to keep things fluid. You don't have to spend much time on Wiki before you figure out how you fit in.
