How do I download the videos?
- To download, right click the file type you would like and pick “Save target as…” or “Save link as…”
Why should I download videos from Channel9?
- It's an easy way to save the videos you like locally.
- You can save the videos in order to watch them offline.
- If all you want is to hear the audio, you can download the MP3!
Which version should I choose?
- If you want to view the video on your PC, Xbox or Media Center, download the High Quality WMV file (this is the highest quality version we have available).
- If you'd like a lower bitrate version, to reduce the download time or cost, then choose the Medium Quality WMV file.
- If you have a Zune, WP7, iPhone, iPad, or iPod device, choose the low or medium MP4 file.
- If you just want to hear the audio of the video, choose the MP3 file.
Right click “Save as…”
- High Quality WMV (PC, Xbox, MCE)
- MP3 (Audio only)
- MP4 (iPod, Zune HD)
- Mid Quality WMV (Lo-band, Mobile)

Some of you may already know the "one-click install wonder tool", simply as the Web PI. Crystal Hoyer (PM), Andrew Brick (Dev) and Nitasha Verma (Test) came by the studio to talk about the new features released today including localized versions, many IIS Extensions, more tools and integration with the Windows Web App Gallery.

Boring video, next time take the camera to their office.
So filming in the studio is dull or boring to you? What do you like better about the office setting? More casual conversation, maybe?
Channel 9 is about getting to know how Microsoft works from the inside. I can read the V2 announcement everwhere and this video didn't add anything to it. Try to find out who they are, what they did in the past, why they are doing this project now and how they do it.
In a studio everything looks stiff and prepared. It's boring and looks like video marketing.
Ah hah, now we're getting somewhere. I agree that it was a demonstration video but that was its purpose. I'll go double-check the Channel 9 doctrine and make sure it still fits. If its any consolation I truly am excited about the prospect of a "one-click" dev environment setup, that wasn't practiced or fake.
Great video! Is there any more information about the URL format that can be used to specify which components should be installed? That would be very helpful for establishing a "platform baseline" when creating troubleshooting documentation.
There are (and have been for a very long time) multiple styles of content on Channel 9 (Conversations, Presentations, Screencasts, Podcasts, etc). Adam is in the business of helping developers get up to speed with new technologies (and learn things about them that you can't on MSDN or the products' marketing sites). He's a developer and an evangelist. Adam is not in marketing and has been around C9 for many years (remember, he built a few versions of C9
)... Suffice it to say that Adam gets C9... But "getting"
C9 does not mean making content that is unscripted-conversational in nature
only... You will continue to see directed technical content like this on Channel 9 just as you will continue to see interviews that happen in a conversational manner with no script, riding the random.
Adding things is not the same as substracting things (in practice).

I'm working on obtaining more information on the URL format, but the team appears to be a little busy today
Keep an eye on the Web PI forum and this thread. I'll post a link here if I get it figured out before its posted on the forums.
Firstly, I feel that variety is the spice of life and that while the office-based videos are cooler, I almost always want a better look at what's on the computer screens than can be achieved by waving a camera at it. So this format of video is good for that.
While I have you, some other suggestions and moans; please can you fix the site so I can login and comment without interrupting playback? And have you thought about a video queue and single player (with size options)? This would also prevent the volume resetting each time. And if you could make it always on top and 50% transparent so I can keep working. And a new car and a slice of cake.

I cant hear any of them....so what is boring guys. Silverlight is in place.....every one needs to d something new?
